The next morning I really wanted to see the Peitlerkofel
group from its most dramatic side, so I parked
my car in the free car park at the Halslhütte, a cosy
alpine inn with natural wood rooms, a playground,
sun terrace and lawn. It is a suitable starting point
for Dolomite high-altitude trail nos. 2 and 8 as
well as for hikes to the Plose area with Gabler,
Aferer Geisler with Guenther Messner trail and
Peitler Kofl , from which it is possible to see as far as
Venice.
It is accessible by car from four valleys (Villnöss,
Brixen-Afers, Lüsen, Gadertal/Würzjoch).    |
