The Villnoess Valley – a Dolomite Valley in a Unique Mountain Landscape
Find peace and relaxation in one of the most beautiful and quiet Dolomite valleys. The Geisler Group of mountains in the Puez-Geisler Nature Reserve, is the emblem and major eye-catcher, with its craggy tors and mountain summits, which, thanks to their limestone content, are also known as the pale mountains.
Scarcely another valley has such a rapid transition from the gentle low mountain terraces of the Eisack Valley, on which it is possible to grow excellent grapes for wine, to the impressive rocky massifs of the Dolomites.

The peaks of the Geisler - Villnoess' Hiking Pin
The "peaks of the Geisler" pin is a special incentive for hiking in the Villnoess alpine pastures. It is possible to buy the basic pin from all of the huts mentioned here for just €3.00. The petals that go with it can then be obtained for free from all of the other huts when you stop there for a drink or snack.

Experiencing nature in Zans – hiking with no barriers
The regional office for nature reserves and the regional agency for forestry and public property have jointly developed a trail that is also suitable for use by people with disabilities. It is accessible by wheelchair along its entire length and also features Braille signage in places.
The trail is approx. three kilometres long, with an incline of no more than 8 percent, is equipped with a special wearing course and has several rest areas – all of which should guarantee that wheelchair users too will feel comfortable and safe here.
The Zans Nature Experience Trail begins at the car park in Zans, leads over the Piuswiese meadow and a newly built wooden bridge to the game reserve, past the lime kiln, the "Kelderer Wiese" hut and the forester's lodge before ending back in the car park in Zans. It is a lovely circular route, which, in a total of fourteen stations offers many views and insights into the beautiful natural and cultural landscape in and around Zans.
